KUDRA was started by former costume designer, Amy Di LaMarra. Amy studied theatrical costume design at the Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago, before moving to Los Angeles. She has worked in all facets of costuming in the film and entertainment industry, including productions on Broadway and Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, many music videos and commercials, TV and film.

Amy started what was to become KUDRA when she began making leather chokers and hand laced bags made from vintage leather jackets. These were used on shoots, and sold to a few boutiques in LA and San Francisco. Later, a stint fabricating leather costumes for the George Michael video “FREEK” solidified her love of leather and deepened her knowledge of how to work with it.

In 2003 Amy brought her unique vision of bohemian elegance to the market place when KUDRA was launched as a small line of luxurious leather totes, clutches, cuffs and chokers. Since then the line has expanded to include a full line of handbag styles, belts and cuffs. KUDRA now sells in many stores across the country and has been featured in many major magazines including Lucky, In Style, Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan.
